JOHN GELIN DAY

LECANTO – In appreciation for 35 years of dedicated service to our community, Hospice of Citrus County honored Dr. John Gelin in a unique way.

Dr. Gelin and family members were transported by limousine to Hospice House.   The Hospice House Lobby was transformed into a stage as actor Paul Stevio portrayed the Phantom of the Opera and wife Jackie played Christine, the Phantom’s beguiling young love interest.

Dr. Gelin loves opera and The Phantom is a favorite.

The Crystal River Thrift & Gift Shoppe was the next stop on the tour where staff and volunteers donned “We Love Dr. Gelin” buttons and were dressed in scrubs to meet Dr. Gelin.

Playhouse 19 was the final stop for a matinee performance of the Three Penny Opera. Set in Victorian London, and focusing on the working class, cast members in the Three Penny Opera included Hospice of Citrus County Development Manager Mike Shier and Hospice House Regional Manager Jan Hunt.
